Ujjain

The Ecocity Project on Ujjain focuses on Mahakal Temple area including Harsidhh Temple, Bada Ganapati Temple, Rudra Sagar and Old Residential areas. The project area, at the start of the EcoCity, had a number of problems related to pollution of Rudra Sagar, traffic & transportation, including sewerage & drainage and solid waste management.

The main results expected to be achieved from the EcoCity Project are:

• Revival of Rudra Sagar with improved water quality
• Improved sanitary conditions including solid waste management and drainage
• Improved environmental quality
• Improved religious/tourism function in the area
• Improved traffic situation
